This hand-painted reproduction nose art panel replicates the Bf-109G-1 flown by Oberleutanant Guenther Rall with JG 52. Immediately after Rall's 36th enemy kill in the Russian eastern front, he was shot down and found himself with his spinal column broken in three places. Partially paralyzed, doctors told him he would never fly again. Nine months later, Rall was in the cockpit of a 109 again. He ultimately survived the war with 275 victories and frequently makes appearences in the US. This panel depicts one of Rall's Me-109s, Black 13, with the III group emblem. This happens to be the aircraft he was shot down in.
Made with aircraft aluminum, the hand painted panel measures 18 x 40" and is easily hangable on most walls with built in loops on the rear of the panel. This makes a great conversation piece and provides the perfect accent to any room.
