Flown by Lieutenant (jg) Ira C. Kepford, this Corsair (Bureau number 55995) flew with VF-17 of the US Navy, a carrier based unit which spent most of its time on Bougainville. This Corsair represented Kepford's second, adorned with 16 kills on both sides of the fuselage. Kepford went on to become the Navy's foremost Corsair ace of WWII.
Created by renowned aviation artist Gary Velasco and made with aircraft aluminum, the hand painted panel measures 18 x 28" and is easily hangable on most walls with built in loops on the rear of the panel. This makes a great conversation piece and provides the perfect accent to any room.
