This faithful hand-painted reproduction nose art panel of the B-17G Flying Fortress "Nine O Nine" (SN 42-31909) was created by renowned aviation artist Gary Velasco. This B-17G was originally assigned to combat on February 25, 1944. By April 1945 she had been to Berlin eighteen times, dropped 562,000 pounds of bombs, and flown 1,129 hours. She had twenty one engine changes, four wing panel changes, fifteen main gas tank changes and eighteen Tokyo tank (long range fuel tank) changes. "Nine O Nine" had the distinction of flying 140 missions without ever having to turn back for mechanical reasons.
Made with aircraft aluminum, the hand painted panel measures 18 x 40" and is easily hangable on most walls with built in loops on the rear of the panel. This makes a great conversation piece and provides the perfect accent to any room.
PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO THIS PANEL BEING CUSTOM MADE AND HAND PAINTED, IT COULD TAKE 2 TO 4 WEEKS FROM THE DATE OF YOUR ORDER UNTIL YOU RECEIVE IT. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT US.
