This hand-painted reproduction nose art panel of the P-47D Thunderbolt "Hairless Joe" (SN 42-26641) was created by renowned aviation artist Gary Velasco. "Hairless Joe" was one of seven P-47's assigned to Colonel David Shilling with the 56th FG, 8th Air Force. Shilling was flying this particular P-47 on December 23, 1944 when he downed 5 enemy aircraft, raising his tally to 22.5 kills.
Made with aircraft aluminum, the hand painted panel measures 14.5 x 40.5" and is easily hangable on most walls with built in loops on the rear of the panel. This makes a great conversation piece and provides the perfect accent to any room.
PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO THIS PANEL BEING CUSTOM MADE AND HAND PAINTED, IT COULD TAKE 2 TO 4 WEEKS FROM THE DATE OF YOUR ORDER UNTIL YOU RECEIVE IT. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT US.
