1:72 Scale Diecast Focke-Wulf Fw 190A Model, Luftwaffe 1./JG 1, Schiphol, Holland, June 1943 (Limited Edition)
This model measures 4.75" long by 5.75" wide.
The distinctive checkerboard marking, synonymous with I./JG 1’s Defense of the Reich Fw 190As, first appeared in the early summer of 1943. 1./JG 1 chose this scheme, with the checkers in black/white, while 2./JG had them applied in red/black and 3./JG n yellow/black. The Schachbrettmuster would only last a matter of months, however, as the markings resulted in confusion in the air when other Jagdwaffe fighters intercepted the Group after misidentifying its aircraft for similarly marked P-47 Thunderbolts of the USAAF’s Eighth Air Force.
